Summary

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for all activities related to product and inventory costing.  This individual will play a key role in providing management with analysis of product costing to improve operational efficiencies; oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure accurate, timely and actionable information; based upon data analysis, lead project teams to reduce cost and/or drive productivity improvements.  This individual will be a key interface with our auditing firm for the annual audit. Supervision of two professionals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze costing and inventory data to provide management recommendations and action plans to drive cost reductions and/or improve productivity.  Based upon analysis of data, lead project teams to deliver costs and/or productivity improvements.
  2. Responsible for the oversight and review of product costing and inventory reporting.
  3. Lead, in conjunction with Cost Accountant, annual inventory revaluation process.
  4. Lead interface with auditors for annual audit, in conjunction with Cost Accountant and Financial Inventory Control Manager, for all product and inventory inquires.
  5. Provide oversight and direction on inventory control systems, including ERP system.
  6. Provide leadership and direction for the costing and inventory area.
  7. Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies

 

Requirements:

  • 5- 7 years’ experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 2+ years working directly with Executive Management.
  • 1+ years’ experience working within an ERP system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically excel, work, and outlook
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an FDA regulated environment (Medical device, biologics or pharmaceutical)
  • Experience in a job costing environment
  • Experience with Ross ERP manufacturing systems
  • MBA and/or CBA
