Position Summary:  The Intern Project Engineer is responsible for product and process related issues associated with sustaining engineering of current products. Responsibilities include execution of assigned projects, yield improvements, data analysis, process development and improvements, and change management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports initiatives and execute projects related to the following operations initiatives: Master Data for ERP, Testing of Systems, Process Mapping, Quality and Process Improvements.
  • Develops sound understanding of products and focuses on ways to improve operations as well as identify and implement improvements.
  • Based on project assigned, provides Design for Manufacturability guidance to R&D Engineering to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Gathers and analyzes operations metrics and works closely with project teams and/or Quality organization to define, validate and implement appropriate process changes.
  • Utilizes analytical techniques to compile and analyze data and realize appropriate improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to coordinate project activities, product changes and process improvements.
  • Works with operations management to ensure Technicians understand pertinent technical aspects of their assigned products and processes.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Understanding of basic statistics and design of experiments
  • Currently working on a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
