Summary

The Core Materials Handler is an entry level position that is responsible for ensuring the manufacturing job floor (Core) is properly supplied with the necessary raw materials to meet daily Operations schedules and production goals.  Core Material Handlers have the primary responsibility for managing the stocking and replenishment of all materials used by the Core and also for areas outside of the core.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Core Operations Management  

  • Determine Core bin replenishment requirements based on established bin PAR levels and as directed by Supervisor (by day/shift)
  • Perform physical material stocking and replenishment for all items required to support Operations in bin locations inside the Core; fill to designated PAR levels
  • Prepare cleaning solution  canisters for production areas
  • Removal of regulated and non-regulated waste from production area and accumulation according to waste disposal procedures.

Warehouse Operations Management   

  • Perform physical material stocking and replenishment for all materials utilized by the Core Operations personnel that are stored outside the Core
  • Perform associated electronic transactions in ERP system
  • Remove all used Core clothing bags and place in vendor recycling bins inside the Warehouse
  • Adhere to and promote proper practices and techniques which are consistent with current operating procedures, training requirements, safety practices and company policies
  • Provide coverage for Materials Receiving functions as needed

Inventory Management  

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of procedures for all inventory movements 
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of 5S efforts
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of designated Kanban systems in the warehouse and Core
  • Supports development usage rates and coordinates reporting as directed by Warehouse Supervisor
  • Support cycle counting activities as directed by Warehouse Supervisor

 

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience in general warehouse, stockroom or inventory control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
  • High School diploma or equivalent

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience working with Kanban systems and 5S techniques
  • Previous experience in a Regulated, Biotech, or Manufacturing Industry related to inventory management

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs (10lbs continuously), bend, stand, twist, push, pull, manual dexterity, visual acuity, type, repetitive motion of wrist and shoulder.
  • Will be exposed to florescent lighting, dust, fumes, chemicals, biohazardous materials, Aseptic environment, working in confined spaces, wearing personal protective equipment, and sharp tools/instruments.
